    1. Softly approached the Captain, for He'd already won
He smote the leagues of demons laying claim upon His son
His countenance was stoic, though His eyes were set ablaze
His pupils sparked white hot, like lighting lit His gaze
Crimson laced His mighty sword, He spoke like rolling thunder
Before Him stretched a barren scene of defiance torn asunder
No kings, no men, no friend, no foe, no one dared lift their head
The multitudes lay prostrate in awe, wonder, and dread

    2. His footsteps shone like sunrise, His shadow glowed like dawn
Before a shattered storm He paused, a man whose strength was gone
"I speak and you will hear Me--My will, none overcome
You stumbled at my side and abandoned all wisdom
Your stench rose up to heaven, it was just for you to die
In my mercy I preserved you, and now you will learn why
The world knows not what Love is, though I have loved it best
Knowledge of Love eternal has all but been repressed

    3. "Over emotion mortals squabble, the wicked never sleep
Still I call out to the rabble to beckon My lost sheep
'In Me find true refreshment, you've forgotten how to thirst
Your hearts won't know fulfillment until you have loved Me first'
For this, My son, I've saved you and left you here on Earth
Tell everyone of My great Love and My unfathomed worth
Live out true Love beyond your strength, My might will see you through
After all I suffered death and Hell to rescue you"
